Photoelectric photometry of stars in the areas of globular clusters M4, M22, M71 and M92
The results of photoelectric seven-color photometry of 64 stars in theVilnius system within 10.1 and 15.4 mag in the areas of globularclusters M4, M22, M71, and M92 are presented. Some of these stars arecluster members.

Photometry, proper motions, and membership in the globular cluster M71
New photographic photometry and proper motions have been obtained forover 350 stars with V less than about 16 in the region of the globularcluster M71 (NGC 6838). The photometry has been calibrated via newphotoelectric observations which resolve the zero-point discrepancy ofprevious sequences. The proper motions have been used to derive clustermembership probabilities. The horizontal branch and lower giant branchvery closely resemble those of 47 Tuc, but the upper part of the giantbranch is slightly brighter and bluer in M71. Three probable UV-brightstars are likely members. Four variable stars near the tip of the giantbranch are probable members, as are most of the stars observedspectroscopically by various authors. The internal velocity dispersionhas been detected. The cluster space velocity is well determined and ischaracteristic of a disk-population object: about 50 km/s.

Interstellar reddening in the direction of the globular cluster M71
Interstellar reddening as a function of distance in the direction of theglobular cluster M71 is determined by two-dimensional quantification of96 arcmin foreground stars observed in the Vilnius photometric system. In concentric areas with the radii 30 arcmin and 10 arcmin centered onthe cluster, the reddening shows the same variations, ranging fromE(B-V) = 0.12 to 0.32. The cluster stars are likely to have variableextinction too, at least in the outer regions of the cluster.
