UBV beta Database for Case-Hamburg Northern and Southern Luminous Stars
A database of photoelectric UBV beta photometry for stars listed in theCase-Hamburg northern and southern Milky Way luminous stars surveys hasbeen compiled from the original research literature. Consisting of over16,000 observations of some 7300 stars from over 500 sources, thisdatabase constitutes the most complete compilation of such photometryavailable for intrinsically luminous stars around the Galactic plane.Over 5000 stars listed in the Case-Hamburg surveys still lackfundamental photometric data.

G54.4-0.3: CO shell and star formation region surrounding a shell-type supernova remnant. I - Properties of the CO shell
The interaction of the extended shell-type supernova remnant (SNR)G54.4-0.3 with the interstellar medium was studied using observationswith the KOSMA 3-m telescope of the complete SNR area in (C-12)O (1-0).Large-scale CO structures across the SNR were observed, indicating theSNR interaction with the ambient molecular gas. Values for the mass ofthe CO shell and the inital density of the molecular material werederived by integrating the CO emission over the total velocity range ofthe shell. For a distance estimates for HII-regions and anOB-association in the neighborhood of G54.4-0.3, the mass of the COshell was found to be about 5 x 10 exp 4 solar masses and the initialdensity of the molecular material was about 30/cu cm.

Possible membership for the 51-day Cepheid GY Sagittae in a new OB association
New photometric and spectroscopic observations of the 51-day Cepheid GYSagittae and nearby OB stars are presented which confirm the PopulationI nature of the Cepheid and suggest its possible membership in ananonymous OB association. On the basis of agreement in spatial location, reddening, and evolutionary status, it appears that GY Sge is probably amember of a loose association consisting of at least 17 luminous starsat a common distance of 3.47 + or - 0.13 kpc. The equivalent B-starreddening of 1.29 + or - 0.06 derived for the Cepheid, together with theassumption of association membership, results in an intensity-meanabsolute magnitude of -6.34 + or -0.19.
