Observations of double stars and new pairs. XV
The study reports visual and photographic measures listed for 1150 pairsobtained in the time frame 1989.91-1992.15, including 221 new doublestars. Magnitudes were estimated for a part of the objects, especiallythe fainter ones. Plate orientations were calculated from field stars ofknown positions and were precessed to the epoch; numbers of nights andof measured exposures are given. Reobservation of faint, neglected pairsreveal many corrections to the data from the old discovery lists.

A preliminary compilation of DS-programme star positions
A catalog is presented of the double-star-program (DS-program) starpositions, listing right ascensions for 930 DSs and declinations for1225 DSs of the program. The positions were compiled from the observedvalues obtained between 1980 and 1987 with the meridian circles of sixUSSR observatories (the Moscow, Kazan', Kiev, Khar'kov, Odessa, andTashkent Observatories) and the Belgrade Observatory. The measurementsand the treatment of the observational material were performed using therelative method, and the FK-4 system stars were used as reference stars.

Measurements of binary stars obtained at Pic-du-Midi and at Nice
A total of 112 visual measurements of 82 close binaries observed with 2mtelescope at Pic-du-Midi are presented. In addition, 344 measurements of163 close binaries were observed with the 74-cm and 50-cm refractors atNice. All measurements were made by a micrometer with illuminated wires.

Micrometer observations of double stars and new pairs. XIII
From a program of double star observations which emphasizes orbital, neglected, and newly discovered pairs, results obtained from October1984 to January 1987 are presented. A total of 3030 visual and 550photographic measures are listed. The positions in WDS format andDurchmusterung numbers are shown for 117 pairs for which firstobservations appear in this paper. Magnitudes are estimated for some ofthe objects.

Speckle interferometric measurements of binary stars. II
Results are presented for 219 observations of 155 binary systemsperformed by means of speckle interferometry. The measured separationsrange from 0.033 to 3.25 arcsec with a mean of 0.38 arcsec and 65observations of separation less than 0.12 arcsec. Directly resolvedsystems include HR 1129, HR 2304, 53 Aur, Beta Sco CE, HR 6697, 17 Sgr,74 Aqr, Omicron And, 94 Aqr Aa, and Psi And. Further observations arereported for the 'speckle binaries' 12 Per, 51 Tau, Eta Ori, 19 Leo, EtaVir Aa, Theta Vir, Beta CrB, Delta Sco, Sigma Her, Chi Dra, Delta Sge,Beta Cep Aa, and Xi Cep Aa, as well as for the interferometric binariesAlpha Aur and Alpha Del Aa. Orbit residuals are determined fromavailable orbits and used to check for systematic errors; it isconcluded that there are no serious systematic errors present in theobservations reported.

MK classification for visual binary components
MK classifications are presented for both components of 208 visualbinaries, most of which appear in the Third Catalogue of Orbits ofVisual Binary Stars (Finsen and Worley 1970) and which have onlycomposite MK spectral types and visual-magnitude differences. Comparisonbetween the results obtained and the several individually observed orpreviously inferred component types suggest that an accuracy of plus orminus 2 to 3 spectral subtypes may be expected for both unevolved pairsand evolved pairs; an accuracy of plus or minus 0.5 to 1.0 luminosityclasses is expected for evolved pairs.
